Domain Popularity

The domain popularity is measured by a website's number of backlinks. In contrast to the link popularity, only one backlink counts per domain for the domain popularity.

Example

A blog about software has 10 different links to the Hello Engines! website. All those links will only count as a single backlink.

Domain popularity is an important element for search engines. In the past a website's popularity was measured by its total number of backlinks. Because this number could be manipulated very easily, it was replaced by the Domain Popularity.
